You don’t need a new hymn book to access the power of the hymns of Zion. From my experience, you don’t need a hymn book at all!
While it may be impossible to create societal silence, may we create heavenly harmonies to combat the noise we cannot eliminate. Let our worship through both sound and silence be pure, joyous, and frequent.
One of the doctrines I find most sweet and tender is that God created us and knew us long before we were born. I love the thought that not so long ago, I was back with my Heavenly Parents, learning in their perfect love. I can imagine myself sitting with Them and hanging on Their every word as They prepared me for mortality. Even though mortality would be difficult, I knew my Savior, and I knew the blessings at stake.
Setting goals for your choir warm-ups is a great way to set your rehearsal up for success. But with limited time, it may seem impossible to fit in all the exercises you want to… The key is to use warm-ups that multitask! With some carefully crafted exercises, we can fit most of our goals into just a couple exercises without choir members even realizing.
Beginning your rehearsal warm-ups with specific objectives creates a sense of purpose and can help establish a routine in your rehearsals. The options are endless, but many choirs share similar ideas. Below are common choral warm-up goals and pedagogically sound ideas to work towards them.
